2025 Workshops and Sketch Afield Sessions
May 17-20, 2025 - Spring Sketch Afield: Truck Camp on the Mountain at Blue Knob State Park. I'll be truck camping for three nights (Sat.Sun/Mon) at the state park campground to enjoy some hiking, dark sky nights, and nature journaling throughout. This is an informal meet-up and is not an organized group gathering, so you can stay as long as you want, hike and sketch together or not, camp out or make a day visit. We have fun checking out our camping rigs (cars, trucks, tents, trailers) and learn from each other how to stay safe, comfy, and well-fed afield. We gather around the campfire to share stories, read, create. There are HOT SHOWERS! Blue Knob Mountain is the second highest mountain in Pennsylvania and has some beautiful trails with amazing overlooks and views. The wildlife is just wonderful as are the woods. This is one of my happy places and I am so pleased to share it with you. There is NO FEE to join me except to make your own reservations through the state online camping reservation system (see link in the park webpage above). Bring your own everything. If you are new to camping please let me know and I can help you decide what to bring and/or how to fit-out your car or truck if you want to build-out your own artist's adventure rig. Companions and Friends Overnight Hike - Join me for a short 2-3 night out backpacking excursion in PA to learn the basics of backpacking (including setting up your own tent and using a backpacking stove!). Date TBA
I don't have a sticks-and-bricks studio or gallery because it doesn't fit into my backpack or the back of my F-150. I do, however, offer prints of some of my work and am slowly building up an online gallery through Geo Galleries with Finer Works in San Antonio, Texas.
